About Sam
Sam joined Estate First Lawyers in 2010. He commenced as a junior law clerk and steadily rose through the ranks, learning all aspects of the Estate First’s legal services. Despite working full time, Sam graduated in the top 2% of law students in his year. Sam’s legal experience includes the breadth of estate law, from estate administration to estate planning. Often playfully dubbed ‘boy genius’ by the industry, Sam is one of the up and coming young lawyers being recognised as a future leader in succession and tax law.
Education & Credentials
Sam was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Qld in 2020. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting major) in 2016 and a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours in 2018 from the University of Queensland. He also completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Sam is a member of the Queensland Law Society.
Expertise
Sam has dedicated his legal career to the complex area of estate planning law. He has a strong knowledge of tax law and finance, which is of great value in estate planning, especially where entities such as trusts (including testamentary trusts), companies and super funds are involved. Sam is proficient at advising on all aspects of estate planning law and is also able to advise on asset protection strategies for clients in risk positions. He also has experience in estate administration, where his empathetic approach with clients is appreciated.
Sam also heads up the operational management of the firm, including precedent development, legal compliance and file work systems and processes. His work ethic and rigorous quality management has contributed to the consistently high feedback ratings we receive from clients for our legal services.
